 Section 1:  Forms of Resistance to New Technologies

New technologies may receive different forms of resistance from patients, caregivers, and nurses. For example,  Patients could reject a technology characterized by a high cost of treatment. Nurses and caregivers would resist technologies requiring extra skills and time to learn, such as evidence-based practices (EBPs).  They would also resist new technologies with high health risks, such as contracting diseases.

Strategies to Diminish Resistance

            Cost-effective technologies should be implemented to diminish resistance. Simplified technologies requiring fewer skills and knowledge should be adopted. Additionally, risk-free technologies that do not expose the life of caregivers to danger should be adopted.

A Patient Care Scenario: Fainting

 I would first assess the site safety of the patient. If the patient is on a busy road that is overcrowded, I would first relocate him to a safer place to avoid disruptions. I would need the knowledge on the relationship between laying the patient flat on the ground and the flow and circulation of blood in the brain (Kidd, Doughty & Goldhaber, 2016). Also, I would require a piece of cloth, water, and some glucose, to administer first-aid to the patient. The caregivers should supplement the patient’s diet with fruits and carbohydrates foods for home remedies to boost his energy.  If symptoms persist, the patient should seek assistance from a physician.

Section 2: How information Literacy affects nursing informatics

 Information literacy is critical in the nursing profession. It helps in problem-solving and decision-making in nursing practice. It also helps in the provision of high-quality care to patients. More so, nurses can integrate nursing science, solve several healthcare challenges, and analyze new trends while still monitoring any nursing error.

The Nursing Research

             Nursing research involves the integration of several knowledge types. Firstly, nursing research entails acquiring knowledge from educational programs, nursing research, articles, databases, and consulting experts (Daniel, 2013).  They disseminate their acquired knowledge with their colleagues, who provide them with feedback. Through feedback and interactions, new knowledge may be generated.  As different professionals provide their feedbacks, additional knowledge is processed.
