I am delighted to welcome you to Westside preschool, and particularly to my class. I assure you the best service for you and your child. I view a parent as part of the learning process since studies like (Aman et al., 2019) have linked students’ performance to parent involvement in class. Therefore, you will be part of your child’s educational outcomes. Let me brief you how in the next one minute.

I highly encourage parents to participate in meetings that concern the class and the school at large in my class. I may invite you to address some critical agendas, which we wish to consider your input. In that regard, you should also get involved in your child’s learning by becoming a resource for the students.

There are other many ways to do that, including offering to participate in children’s activities or providing needed resources. Last year I had a parent who recorded herself reading a novel and sent us the audio recordings, and the class enjoyed listening to these stories so much.

The third way to get involved in classroom activities for your child is to assist as a tutor. Every child has their special needs, which increases the range of issues I have t deal with every day. However, if you can offer tutoring help in one way or another, I would really appreciate it. That may be as simple as becoming a class reader for 20 minutes, or you can pass by and help the children with arts.

In addition, get to know what your child is often doing. That may require you to come to class and observe the daily program, such as the activities we shall be doing and at what time. That will also give you insights into how you can participate in-class activities. The last suggestion for your involvement in class is to help your child complete homework. Most of these are straightforward, such as listening to a story, which will not take much of your time. Overall, I am appealing to you to take this opportunity and become part of your child’s learning process.

In the study mentioned above, Aman et al. (2019) also linked the socioeconomic status of a family to a child’s educational outcomes. Therefore, I appeal to you to use the locally available family resources where applicable.
