Self-reflection Essay
As Zimmerman argues in his work, a correlation between self-regulation level and academic excellence exists. Once mastered, self-regulation skills can be used not only in academics but even in other aspects of life. In this self-reflection essay, my learning process throughout the course will be examined. Also, my learning behavior will be explored through various self-regulatory strategies proposed in Zimmerman’s (2002) work. Learning through reflection is one of the most successful strategies in information retaining. Self-reflection contributes to critical thinking where students and workers can examine what works for them and what does not. Throughout the course, I have learned much about self-regulatory phases through a wealth of information shared on various topics such as the main barriers of agile, the hallmark of agile organizations, critical changes in firms that demand agile, and the components of agile organizations.

Another important topic was ethics and organizational growth, among many other topics. In the article by Zimmerman (2002), self-regulation involves three phases/stages, including forethought, performance or action, and self-reflection. In today’s dynamic market, firms are inevitably required to react or even adapt to new developments or risk failing. In this case, organizations are moving away from static and traditional strategies if they want to improve their competitiveness, also referred to as organizational agility. Various approaches that Zimmerman (2002) proposed to include goal setting, imagery, self-monitoring and evaluation, help-seeking, and task strategies are used. In the future, I not only plan to use Zimmerman’s techniques to succeed in academics. Besides, I plan to implement various self-regulatory strategies proposed by the article, such as self-evaluation and monitoring, to solve organizational challenges, including change management and handling conflicts. I will also use the techniques towards attaining and maintaining a higher performance. Through individualized training activities, I will also educate my co-workers on the same to ensure that my organization registers higher returns.
