Carpenter v. the United States

One of the most popular technologies used throughout the world is cell phones. They are critical extensions of human existence that adds accessibility and connectivity functions. As such, police departments and investigators have, in the past, used information technologies to track cell phones’ locations and read their history, and thus their owners. On November 29, 2017, the court went ahead to criminalize the tracking by ruling that the government needs a warrant to access a person’s cellphone location and history.
