Introduction

This progress report briefly reviews the need, purpose, scope, and potential benefit of the recommendation report – Climate Change: Reversing its Effects and Sensitizing the Community. This progress report describes the work completed, work remaining, and any issues that could jeopardize the value or timely completion of the recommendation report, and concludes with an overall assessment of the status of the report.

The recommendation report will provide background information and datathat identifies some ways of sensitizing a community on the effects of climate change by looking at several key areas. The recommendation will address global warming and its constituents, depict its reality, and highlight human influence on climate that leads to global warming. Besides, the report will identify the trends of global warming, dangers associated with warming, and possible means of reversing the global warming trend. Through research methods, investment in clean energy and championing greener energy are identified as possible solutions to global warming. There are two solutions to reversing climate change and are evaluated over three criterions, namely cost, ease of implementation, and sustainability.

The need, audience, purpose, and scope for the report are well defined.

On Tuesday, October 29^th, 2019, I submitted a proposal to write the recommendation report on Climate Change. The report would narrow down to the reversing effects of climate change and sensitizing the community. The department concerned accepted my proposal and gave positive feedback. Besides, the grading rubric identified areas that need revision, improvement, or refinement. For instance, I was required to define the need for the recommendations and describe possible solutions to global warming concisely.

On Sunday, November 1st^h, 2019, I started writing a draft of the climate change proposal. The draft comprised general knowledge from course materials, research from online libraries, websites, and books.

On Sunday, November 10^th, 2019, I submitted the draft to my professors for review. The draft received a fair review since I had followed the grading rubric. The review professor encouraged me to conduct further research on the topic since the content of the proposal did not have technical details concerning global warming. Besides, I would include some charts or graphs to present data.

On Friday, November 15^th, 2019, I submitted a document that contained a detailed procedure on how I would revise my recommendation report. The document categorized each procedural step for nine days. The steps included developmental editing, identification of missing content, completion of research, organization of materials, substantive editing, revision, copyedit, and proofread.

On Saturday, November 16^th, 2019, I conducted developmental editing on the draft. The procedure would ensure the draft was on topic and had the relevant primary information.

 On Monday, November 17^th, 2019, I read through the draft, counter checked its contents with the outline, and the grading rubric. The procedure helped to identify missing content and realize any lack of clarity. For instance, I realized the failure to indicate the relationship between global temperature and the volume of greenhouse gases.

On Wednesday, November 20th, 2019, I conducted further research to add to the content of the draft. The research focused on finding technical data, which my review professor had recommended. I wrote all additional information in bullets at the end of the draft and made sure to include relevant sources. I found that climate change has a relationship with global warming. Besides, there are several studies done on global warmings, such as on its causes and effects. For instance, Brad, Brian, and Umair identify that Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide are the major greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

On Friday, November 22^nd, 2019, I organized the content of the draft by adding all-important formation in logic prose. The prose made it possible to connect related ideas and make relevant in-text citations from the sources I had identified earlier. Also, I added a bar chart that illustrated the criterion of the two possible solutions for reversing its effects and sensitizing the community.

On Monday, November 25th, 2019, I did substantive editing. The procedure entailed reading through the recommendation report to ensure a smooth flow of ideas, minimal grammatical, and syntax errors.

On Thursday, November 28^th, 2019, I read through the draft again to identify areas requiring revision and refinement. The step entailed checking the initial proposal, the grading rubric, and comments from the professor. I made very few changes and deemed the report to be satisfactory.

On Sunday, November 30^th, I copyedited the draft into a final report. The step entailed including all parts of an academic report paper such as my names, names of my professor, course details, dates, titles, and references. Besides, I formatted the paper in the desired fonts and headings.

On Monday, December 2^nd, 2019, I proofread the recommendation report. Proofreading helped familiarize with the ideas in the report, as well as refine or edit any parts that might have been unconcise.

Work Remaining

I have completed all the procedures in preparation for the report on Climate Change: Reversing its effects and Sensitizing the Community.

Conclusion

            The report is on schedule, and I expect to submit it on or before December 3^rd, 2019 as planned. There are no issues that could jeopardize the value or timely submission of the report.
